Third Wednesday Host Requirements
Want to host a ‘Third Wednesday’ event?
  1. Be in good standing as a MPSBA Member
  2. Have or have access to a store front business location in the Metro Parker area where food can be made available from 7-8am on a Third Wednesday
  3. Select an available month for your event from ‘Third Wednesday’ Team Leader
  4. Meet with Team Leader to agree that location will work
  5. Submit event specifics to Team Leader 30 days prior to scheduled event
Team Leader responsibilities in addition to those included above:
1.   Will create flyer for the event including data submitted by host
2.   Flyer will be emailed to Member and other data bases prior to event
3.   Will be at the event at least 15 minutes before first people are to arrive
4.   Will set up sign in, pa and Member’s information area(s)
5.   Will MC the event and/or coordinate with those sharing the responsibility
Team Leader additional personal or delegated responsibilities
  1. Sign-in forms on clip board, pens, name tags with special bold marking pens
  2. MPSBA brochures in holder, application forms on a clip board and pen(s)
  3. Area set aside and clearly marked for Member’s materials (some rules should be set)
  4. Collect money from and give receipts to repeat attendees
  5. Help with clean up after the event
Event format should include at least the following:
1.   Open networking period(s)
2.   Introduce special guests (mayor, town council member, dignitary, etc.)
3.   Introduce host midway through the event, let them speak along with testimonials
4.   Allow every Member and guest to give their 30-45 second commercial
5.   Have an educational moment (3-5 minutes) and/or a guest speaker
6.   Tell the group about MPSBA and ask Guests to join
7.   Thank Yous: (host, your team, presenters, Members, and guests)
First Thursday Host Requirements
Want to host a ‘First Thursday’ (FT) event?
  1. Be in good standing as a MPSBA Member
  2. Have or have access to a store front business location in the Metro Parker area
  3. Choose a home based business Member to host with you
  4. Be willing to accept a second home based host chosen by Events Team (ET)
  5. Select an available month for your event from ‘First Thursday’ Team Leader (FTTL)
  6. Hosts meet with (FTTL) to agree on how costs will be shared
  7. Meeting of parties to work out building layout for the event (sign-in, food, PA, etc.)
  8. Submit event specifics and hosts profiles to (FTTL) 30 days prior to scheduled event
  9. Have Members/visitors at the event who can share good stories about each host
(FTTL) responsibilities in addition to those included above:
  1. Will create flyer for the event including data submitted by host(s)
  2.  Draft flyer will be emailed to hosts for review two+ weeks before event
  3. Also posted on the MPSBA.org website (the sooner the better)
  4. Final flyer, with any corrections, to be ready 10+ days prior to the event
  5. Flyer will be emailed to Member and other data bases three times prior to event
  6.  Also posted on the MPSBA.org website (the sooner the better)
  7. Solicit donated gifts from members for drawing at the event
  8. Will be at the event at least 30 minutes before first people are to arrive       
  9. Will set up sign in, drawing, PA and Member’s information area(s)     
  10. Will see that PA system is working or that DJ type person will handle PA needs
  11. Will MC the event and/or coordinate with those sharing the responsibility
  12.  Select and work with the Greeters for most efficient operation
(FTTL) Additional personal or delegated responsibilities
  1. Have drawing bowl, collect gifts in one area and blank business cards for write-ins
  2. Sign-in forms on clip board, pens, name tags with special bold marking pens
  3. MPSBA brochures in holder, application forms on a clip board and pen(s)
  4. Area set aside and clearly marked for Member’s materials (some rules should be set)
  5. Collect money from and give receipts to repeat attendees
  6. Help with clean up after the event

Event format should include at least the following:

1.   Greeters welcome everyone, get them introduced to others
2.   Open networking periods, especially for approximately the first 20-30 minutes
3.   Depending on the number of gifts, conduct drawings throughout the evening
4.   Introduce special guests (mayor, town council member, dignitary, etc.)
5.   Introduce hosts midway through the event, let them speak along with testimonials
6.   Have small group breakout session (30-45 sec. commercials given by all in group)
7.   Have one or more educational moments
8.   President’s welcome, introduce new Members and give them their name badges
9.   Thank Yous: (hosts, your team, dj, presenters, Members, food donations and guests)
